Samsung Plans to Replace All Plastic Packaging This Year

Samsung recently announced its plans to replace all harmful packaging materials with paper or other sustainable alternatives. This is set to launch in the first half of this year, with the incorporation of recycled plastics and paper materials encasing tablets, home appliances, and mobile phones. The tech company enables task forces in areas such as purchasing, quality control, design and development, and marketing to initiate progressive packaging concepts.

Gyeong-bin Jeon heads the firm's Global Customer Satisfaction Center and he states that the company is "committed to recycling resources and minimizing pollution coming from our products. We will adopt more environmentally sustainable materials even if it means an increase in cost." Notably, this sustainable initiative will translate across all production areas as well, with plans to change the construction of the holder trays and replacing glossy finishes to matte in order to eliminate the use of plastic protection films.
