From far away the 'Kraken' outdoor playground looks like an oversized plush toy, but it is upon closer inspection that the true grandeur of the design comes into realization. Located in the Yantian public park in Shenzhen, China the 'Kraken' playground was commissioned by the Vanke Group. The design of the 'Kraken' is the work of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman who created the playground as a place for kids and adults to play and forget about their troubles.
The 'Kraken' outdoor playground is crafted from a series of intertwined ropes and soft structures that ensure it's easy to climb and suitable for kids to play on. Once players climb up into the interior space of the 'Kraken' octopus, an imaginative play space awaits with other jungle gym accoutrements.
