Design-Focused E-Bikes

The Orbea Gain is an Impressive E-Bike That Looks Like a Normal Bicycle

The Orbea Gain is an e-bike that defines itself by not looking anything like a traditional e-bike. While there is a definite practical appeal to e-bikes, the aesthetics are often a point of contention for buyers. Chunky motors and batteries draw away from the overall look of the bike and can be rather difficult to hide. Orbea has managed to accomplish this in the Gain by hiding the battery in the down tube and fitting a rear motor hub, this gives the Gain a traditional bicycle look and the performance of a high end e-bike.

The battery in the Orbea Gain is fairly robust and can generally run for a 62-mile ride. More power is available through an external booster by Orbea, though this option will add some bulk to the bike. Weighing in at 13 kilograms, the Gain is meant to make tough rides a breeze, but also forces riders to put in some effort. The design principles behind the Gain were to add power to enhance the riders experience, but does not attempt to dominate it.
