A Project Team is Developing a Game to Teach Kids About Food & Cavities

Game development students from the University of Skövde are collaborating with staff from the School of Health and Welfare at Jönköping University to develop an oral health board game designed to teach kids about their dietary choices. Created for children between the ages of five to eight, the game borrows elements from the Sockerklockan (the Sugarclock)—an educational resource informing kids about the pros and cons of a varied diet, meal patterns, and sugar consumption.

In February, the project team received support for the development of the game in collaboration with Science Park. If pilot testing and the production of the prototype prove to be successful, this project ultimately aims to investigate the educational effect of the game on children and their family perspectives on diet and oral health through research.
