Skylighted Wooden Cafes

OpenScope Studio has Designed an Independent Coffee House

OpenScope Studio has designed St Frank Coffee, a retail space located in the historic Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco, California.

The space, which was formerly used as a nail salon, was refurnished to include wood panelling and a low counter. In fact, the standout feature is the serving counter, a curved structure clad in white honeycomb tiles. The architects explain, "It is designed to be as open and obstacle-free as possible, including detailing the front counter to accommodate a pair of custom-built recessed espresso machines." Behind the counter, white oak panels line the lower half of the wall.

The coffee house features skylights for natural light, steel benches and wooden stools for seating and wooden surfaces.
