City Story Installations

The One World Observatory is Home to a Gesture-Controlled Ring of Screens

People will be drawn to the One World Observatory for a number of reasons, one of which involves an informative art installation that comes in the form of a ring of screens. Replacing the more traditional displays that often complement tours of similar historical sights, this installation tells the story of New York City in a unique way.

Created by Local Projects, the One World Observatory installation is excitingly controlled by gesture as well. For instance, a person "can point to 10 positions around the circle to pull up topics that visitors might be interested in (like food and dining, arts and culture, or New York history)," explains Fast Co Design. By doing so, the project will create a custom experience for each visitor.
