Spirit50 Addresses Old Age and Health Through Home Fitness Sessions

Going to the gym on a routine basis is a surefire way to improve overall wellness, but this is not a lifestyle that works for everyone, particularly when old age and health concerns are an issue. With this in mind, personal trainer and entrepreneur Erin Billowits created Spirit50, a home workout program that targets baby boomers in the age bracket of 55 and above.

Billowits notes: "There was a gap in the market for older adults and fitness in the home. I was the first to start that niche." Based out of Ontario, Spirit50 satisfies a void in the market by addressing problems that her clients typically face with time, distance and keeping a regular practice. Spirit50 appeals to boomers with personalized fitness plans, tracking, rewards and flexibility to follow the workout sessions at their own pace.

There are thousands of daily fitness routines to choose from, which are broken down into three difficulty levels. After following the instructional fitness videos, boomers are asked to notice changes, such as the ease or difficulty in tasks like putting on shoes, or turning their heads. Boomers looking for more from their workouts also have the option of taking a session with an in-person trainer for additional guidance and encouragement.
