American Airlines is Allowing Priority Nut Allergy Boarding

In an effort to better ensure the safety of its flyers, American Airlines is launching priority nut allergy boarding to accommodate passengers who may need to take extra precautions when flying. According to a rep from American Airlines, the nut allergy boarding is being offered to "customers with nut allergies who would like to board flights early to wipe down surfaces." The rep went on to say "Though we do not serve peanuts in flight, we can’t guarantee our customers won’t be exposed to peanuts or other tree nuts during their trip."

While this new measure may sound overprotective, it seeks to address the recent incidents in which passengers suffered allergic reactions mid-flight. The initiative is also being launched as a polite consideration meant to further accommodate all passengers onboard.
