Nue Gallery had the tricky task of establishing its brand and trying to differentiate it from other jewelry companies, so they turned to students and created a challenge to design the new packaging format. The winner of the Nue Gallery design challenge was Kristy Birtwistle, a graphic design and illustrator from Victoria University, Australia.
The challenge to create modern, sleek and elegant design for Nue Gallery was met with this geometrical origami-style packaging. The packaging for the design "came from the idea of light refracting off of a diamond, which also gave the package its shape and unique opening mechanism," according to the site.
The design is a pyramid when fully wrapped, but once opened, it blooms to reveal a rather lifelike finger exhibiting the ring.
