For example, if you care about the environment and step inside a restaurant with a poor environmental record Nudge for Change will tell you. The app provides a brief blurb along with a numbered score out of 10. The app will then suggest alternatives nearby that are more in line with your worldview.
Data is pulled from a variety of sources, including sites like Glassdoor (worker's rights and treatment), organizations like GLAAD (LGBT issues) and government agencies like the EPA (the environment). All told Nudge for Change has data on 250 of the biggest and most-frequented retailers in the U.S., with data split into five categories: worker's rights, women's rights, the environment, racial equality and LGBT equality.
