A luxury Nova Scotian home will typically be an oceanside abode overlooking the Atlantic ocean. This countryside home, however, views a variety of natural element. Omar Gandhi's design for this countryside house regards the house as more of a sculpture, built around the natural topography of the land and large boulders.
Rather than creating one unit, Gandhi designed four wood-cladded forms that had to be rotated and moulded to fit within a specific natural environment. Interestingly, rather than have views of open fields and expansive vistas, the homeowner wanted views of the bouldering jagged rocks that surrounded the home. From the Nova Scotian home's dining room, its large wrap-around windows give the perception that you are immersed within these natural rocks and boulders.
