The Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition Was Developed with Fans

In March 2024, Nothing began a project that invited its fans to shape the release of a future device based on the Nothing Phone 2a Plus, and the glow-in-the-dark Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition is the result. To co-create this phone with its community, Nothing followed a four-step process starting with hardware. Inspired by phosphorescence, the phone sports a transparent rear panel and a special coating for a soft-glow finish.

Next, Nothing got to work on the wallpaper design, and the Nothing Phone 2a Plus Community Edition comes with six specially developed pre-installed images. Lastly, Nothing worked with its community on packaging with reflective features to reference the phone's glow-in-the-dark design, and a marketing campaign to boost product visibility.
