Dominic Wilcox 'No Place Like Home GPS Shoe' Makes Getting Lost an Adventure

Do you ever wish that finding your way back home when you're lost could be as easy as clicking your heels together like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz; well Dominic Wilcox 'No Place Like Home GPS Shoes' will make that wish a reality.

Concerned with the idea of people crumpling up in a ball from the stress of not finding their way home, artist and designer Dominic Wilcox installed a GPS system into a pair of handsome lace-ups. Using custom mapping software, owners of the footwear are able to program their destination into the shoes via a USB cable and follow the blinking LED lights to navigate themselves home from anywhere. The lights that create a circle on the left foot show the direction you should walk in, and the lights, forming a straight line on the right foot, outline the progress you have made towards your destination. However, before you start your journey you must do one thing -- click your heels together.

Dominic Wilcox further incorporates The Wizard of Oz theme in his No Place Like Home GPS shoes by having the soles ruby red. For now, the shoes are just a prototype on display at his exhibition, but pretty soon they will be mandatory footwear for those with poor navigation skills.
