The Nissan LEAF MY21 Has the Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System

The Nissan LEAF MY21 electric vehicle has been announced as the latest version of the model that will provide drivers with a range of updates, which includes safety features for them and pedestrians alike.

The vehicle is equipped with the new Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) that is designed to alert pedestrians that the car is approaching, which has traditionally been difficult because of the silent operation of EVs. Referred to by the brand as 'Canto,' the new artificial sound system was created by engineers in Japan and adapted for European roadway at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe.

The 'Canto' feature on the new Nissan LEAF MY21 electric vehicle will automatically activate when the vehicle is traveling at speeds up to 18mph.
