I love the Nikki Rosato Cut Map art series for a number of reasons. The main one, however, is the meaning that I feel exudes from each piece. This visual artist's portfolio is rife with human figures constructed out of traditional print road maps that have been cut and pasted into intricate forms. To me, these pieces represent the need to explore and travel into not only the human psyche, but also into individual people's minds and hearts.
Of course, the Nikki Rosato Cut Map series was inspired by a more concrete concept. As the artist herself puts it, "The lines on a road map are beautifully similar to the lines that cover the surface of the human body."
