Nike's New Technical Lab Will Lead All Sports Developments

Nike's new technical lab boasts 84,000 square feet. The sports and sportswear company unveiled its high-tech lab on the top floor of the Nike World Headquarters in Portland, Oregon. It is five times larger than the brand's previous lab and will be the lead location for all sports developments.

The facility includes a full-sized basketball court equipped with motion cameras, as well as a 200 meter endurance track, a 100 meter straightway, and an artificial turf training pitch. There is also an outdoor training ramp that extends over 500 feet. The company's goal is t make "athletes better and to make the world better for athletes," as Kathy Gomez, Nike's vice president of footwear innovation, said.
