Funky Animalistic Cartoons

Nicholas Stevenson Draws Mysteriously Bright Fairy Tale Images

Nicholas Stevenson is an illustrator who graduated from the Hereford College Of Arts. He loves to make pictures that are what he calls "fun, lively, mysterious and occasionally a bit unsettling." His works remind me of fairy tales, with their bright colors and funky creatures. The creatures often take on the form of animals such as elephants, foxes, owls and cats. I love the brightly colored pinks, purples and oranges that are featured often within these pieces.

Nicholas Stevenson likes to use gouache, which is like water paint and ends ups looking chalky, to create his fantastical illustrations. I think that his whimsical illustrations would be great for a children's book. I look forward to seeing more of Nicholas Stevenson's work in the near future!
