Japanese toy manufacture giant Bandai has been bitten by the robotics bug. It's teaming up with Evolution Robotics, the company responsible for the now defunct Sony AIBO robotics dog's visual recognition system, to roll out a new home telepresence robot.
The 1-foot-tall bug-eyed NetTansor features an on-board camera microphone, speakers, and Wifi network capabilities. End users can program the robot via the PC and control it over the Internet. NetTransor will use Evolution Robotics ViPR vision system to recognize simple objects and environments.
