Neon Love Words

Jung Lee Professes Her Feelings in a Heart-Wrenchingly Artistic Way

There is something ephemeral about these neon love words. Lighted up seemingly impossibly in the middle of forests and fields, they relay desperate messages of love. Overall, they appear to deal with a recent breakup or perhaps an unrequited love. One of them simply reads, "Why," while another one reads, "Have you ever loved me."

Created by Korean artist Jung Lee, who studied at the Royal College of Art, the neon love words are impressive since they relay emotion in her second language. Fubiz writes, "She decides to take these words far from their context, to confront them with the empty and foggy spaces, so that they can take a new sense, be reborn in a way." This way, they are truly reflective.
