The Ned Pendant Lamp was Inspired by the Infamous Kelly's Helmet

The Ned Pendant Lamp is a great deal more than a light fixture with an abstract shade. It simultaneously offers illumination, visual intrigue and an unexpected historical reference.

Anyone remotely familiar with the stories of the Australian bushranger Ned Kelly will immediately recognize the image of his iconic helmet. Predominantly cylindrical in form, the protective hat's defining features are the rectangular slit across eye level and the deep charcoal shade of the metal material.

Troy Backhouse made this hanging light from a stiff aluminum tube, giving it the characteristic dark outer finish and a golden orange powder-coated inside. An elegantly beveled base lets the warm rays escape from the bottom of the Ned Pendant Lamp to produce a familiar yet fresh interior piece.
