Stance's 'NBA Legends Collection' Was Designed by Todd Francis

The 'NBA Legends Collection' by Stance is the latest product launch by the sports-inspired sock company. This collection follows the brand's familiar formula of featuring a different player on each pair, but this time around, illustrator Todd Francis was approached to give the accessories some artistic flare.

Rather than simply placing images of Dominique Wilkins, Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Dennis Rodman and others on the sock, Francis applied a unique watercolor technique to each of his athletic recreations. A cartoon-like figure comprises each athlete, accompanied by a watercolor collage in the background.

Unlike previous collections, the watercolor feature helps to make each pair distinct, adding a sense of personality and whimsy to each piece. The sock line will be in stores later this summer and sold as part of Stance Hoop’s 2016 fall collection.
