Interactive Music Tables

KFC's Interactive Sound Bite Table Creates a Personal Listening Hub

Music is often an important part of setting a certain atmosphere in a restaurant, but KFC takes this idea to the next level with its Interactive Sound Bite music tables.

KFC South Africa created a digital audio table that let its guests listen to music simply by sitting at the table. Using sound wave transmitters, people could place their elbows on the surface of the table and cupping their hands over their ears, creating a makeshift pair of headphones to prevent other patrons from being disturbed by an individual's listening experience.

The surfaces of the tables were decorated by local artists, which was fitting, considering the music playing also gave exposure to up-and-coming music artists in the industry.
