This Music Festival Photo Series is Candid and Raw

Documenting the eccentricities and festivities of 2014's Movement Electronic Music Festival in his music festival photo series, Detroit-based photographer Lyndon French takes us on a journey with him as he captures the hedonistic pleasures taking place in Detroit's iconic riverfront park.

The annual three-day event celebrates Detroit's electronic music legacy and has become a favored destination with over 100,000 people from around the globe attending. As a Detroit native, French decided to capture how people celebrate the birthplace of techno in his music festival photo series.

"The fest merges musical acts from the founders of electronic dance music with their contemporary counterparts," says French, who has been going to the Movement festival for 10 years now. "The festival (and the culture that surrounds it) feels weird, intriguing and authentic to the city."
