MUHLY introduced three new designs at Afternoon Light, including the Dekko Collection, Pokal Collection, and Prairie Pendant. The pieces combine oxidized copper, cherry wood, galvanized steel, and hand-finished detailing across furniture and lighting forms. The Dekko Collection includes chairs and stools influenced by early 19th-century designs from the Western United States, featuring broad silhouettes and circular cutouts. The Prairie Pendant uses perforated galvanized steel to direct light downward, upward, and through punched openings across the shade.
The Pokal Collection draws inspiration from French designer Jean Royère and includes side tables with curved legs and looped feet. MUHLY founders Megan Carney and Ann Edgerton said the pieces are handmade to order in Austin and Philadelphia. The collections were presented through Afternoon Light, the New York design fair focused on contemporary furniture, objects, and materials.
