The GRIT Freedom Chair is a mountain biking wheelchair that allows people with disabilities to enjoy all-terrain outdoor activities. The chair is part mountain bike and part recreational sport wheelchair.
This mountain biking wheelchair has individually geared levers that can be used together (when traveling straight) or independently when turning and maneuvering. The top levers allow for increased torque, while the base levers allow for faster speeds.
If you're unsure about whether the GRIT chair is right for you, you can currently take it on a trial run at the company's Cambridge, Massachusetts headquarters. Demo units will also be made available at the Abilities Expo in San Jose, California and the Ski Spectacular in Breckenridge, Colorado.
The GRIT Wheelchair is also currently the subject of a Kickstarter campaign.
