Glacier-Esque Museum Concepts

The Moscow Polytechnic Museum and Educational Centre is Icy

The Moscow Polytechnic Museum and Educational Centre is set to be put in place by architectural duo Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas. The team won an international competition, enabling them to begin this project which will be officially unveiled come 2017.

A glacier theme will abound this museum. This will come of its coating in pre-oxidized copper, giving off a slate blue color scheme. This breaks with most of the other structures in the area, especially those that are located in the Red Square. The designers hope to challenge the setting in this sense, opening up space for dialogue that is focused on construction in the public sphere. Its unusual coloring and shape will accomplish this end.
