The holidays are notoriously lonely for many, so Morrisons and Age UK have partnered to help support seniors this festive season by offering them a complimentary meal surrounded by friends.
The initiative is taking place December 11, 2025 at Morrisons Cafes where 400 lunchtime meals will be given to guests who have been invited by their Age UK representative. This will provide seniors with a hearty lunch that's packed with festive fare and also encourage them to socialize with others in their community. The Morrisons Community Champions will also ensure that each guest gets a gift before they leave.
Head of Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy at Age UK Pippa Lock commented on the partnership with Morrisons saying, "Christmas should be a time of joy, but for many older people across the UK, it can feel lonely and isolating. Winter only adds to these challenges, with shorter days and reduced services making it even harder to stay connected. It’s a crisis hidden in plain sight. That’s why we’re so grateful to Morrisons for once again showing such kindness and generosity by providing festive meals to older people and helping them feel more connected at a time they need it most."
