Morrama's Prenatal Care Range Helps Parents Bond with Unborn Children

'Prenatal Care' is a concept range by Morrama, the design agency behind the Elvie Catch breast milk collector, designed to help expectant parents manage pain, monitor their baby's health, and establish positive relationships with their children during pregnancy.

Prenatal Care was developed with insights from maternity ward doctors and expecting mothers. The device includes a wearable device that counts baby kicks, a device to support hypnobirthing techniques, and a scanner that listens to the baby in the womb.

"Research shows that the past year has led to a shocking rise in stillbirths and deliberate harm to newborns," Morrama founder and CEO, Jo Barnard, said. "There is evidence to link both to an increase in mothers struggling with anxiety, stress and pre and postpartum depression, no doubt due to the additional pressure of having a baby in a pandemic. Our ‘Prenatal Care’ concept range aims to support the wellbeing of both parent and child."

It is Morrama's hope that the range will show how technology can help GPs and medical services provide high-quality and thoughtful prenatal care.
