The Glastonbury Festival is 'Moobile' Hot Spots to Provide WiFi to Visitors

Visitors to this year's Glastonbury Festival will be greeted with the sight of colorfully painted fiber-glass cows. These lifeless cattle aren't just there to amuse people (though that may occur) but actually represent WiFi hotspots that will enable people to stay connected.

The cows were manufactured by telecom company EE, which specializes in creating WiFi networks in rural areas (possibly explaining the cow idea). The cows are embedded with electronics that enable them to provide free 4G WiFi for festival-goers. This will enable festival-goers to upload images and video and access social media at high speeds, regardless of who their mobile carrier may be.

The Moobile hotspots were inspired by dairy cows at Worthy Farm in the town of Pilton, which is where the first ever Glastonbury Festival was held.
