These CIBC monkey coins were recently unveiled in honor of Chinese New Year 2016. The limited edition coins are a celebratory collectible item that aim to honor 2016, which marks the Year of the Monkey in Chinese culture.

There are a total of five unique CIBC monkey coins, which all contain different images that captivate the personality traits of those born during the Year of the Monkey. To further differentiate these coins, each one is made using different materials, which ranges from fine silver to 18 karat gold.

CIBC is the only bank in Canada to create a special tribute coin collection for the Lunar New Year. While February 8th officially marks the Chinese New Year, these collectible items are already available for consumer purchase at the Royal Canadian Mint and the New Zealand Mint.
