The Tivise is a modern fractal vise launched by Hong Kong maker MakerPi, featuring jaws made of nested, pivoting grips that conform to irregular objects as the vise closes. Presented via a Kickstarter rollout, the device revives an old clamping concept with a compact, modern form designed for workbench and hobby use.
MakerPi sized the Tivise at 113 × 60 × 52.5 mm closed and equipped it with eight 22-mm tall grips; bodies come in titanium or stainless steel and in 45-mm or 90-mm maximum clamp widths. Users can swap grip inserts—titanium for hard parts, brass, nylon or silicone for more delicate items—and add accessories like a desktop mount, magnetic bins, a linking plate or a 5× magnifier arm.
