Contemporary architectural influences have integrated themselves into the agriculture industry, as workers strive to upkeep modern farmhouses and high-tech innovative tools. This Austin home, built by Arbib Hughey architects for a church pastor and his family, takes an all-white structure and is an example of how modern farmhouses are becoming repurposed as residential spaces.
The clients had instructed the firm that they wanted a space that would be socially welcoming with a modern farmhouse's aesthetic elements. The choice of color was derived from the uplifting brightness of white, while the structural design was met by "creating gabled form in a district dominated by flat roofs," as the design team describes.
Restricted by budget, Arbib Hughey produced a simple design solution utilizing fairly economic materials. This resulted in a beautiful all-white house with strong ties to modernity.
