This Modern Garden Design by Pedro & Juana is Perfect for Summer

This modern garden design was created by the Mexican-based designers Pedro & Juana. The garden was the winning entry for the 2013 Archivo Pavilion Architecture competition.

The design turns this public garden in Mexico city into a communal space for people to gather and relax in. The design brief that was set for designers this year was to create "a space that could could hold diverse public activities," according to the competition website.

The design duo's simple idea of stacking terracotta pots creates a number of different facets for this garden. The wall of pots serves to section off the garden from the surrounding spaces and offer some privacy. The large pots also act as a seating area for people to converse in the evenings.
