The Mobile Classroom is a Refreshing Change from the Portable

While some people are using portables and reusing shipping containers to create a mobile classroom, Studio Jantzen is bring some design flair to temporary educational structures. From architect Christof Jantzen, the prefabricated building is not just a cost-efficient solution for when schools run out of room, but is also made out of better quality materials and allows more natural light in.

Instead of metallic cubes crowding playgrounds, The Mobile Classroom has more of a luxury cottage feel. Made out of a renewable material that offers better acoustics, air flow and light, the wood units have a slanted roof with vertical supports.

There is also the concern of ventilation and potential health risks with the standard portables. Jantzen expressed concern to Fast Company's CoDesign "in terms of choice of materials and their toxicity."
