Mobidry creates a portable drying shell for wheelchair users by enclosing both the chair and the rider within a transparent, water-repellent canopy. Designed by Nicolas Odorizi, the concept uses a lightweight frame that arches over the wheelchair and supports a clear protective skin, allowing full visibility while keeping rain off clothing, cushions and equipment.
The canopy pivots open for easy entry and locks into place once the user is seated. The interior remains spacious enough for natural posture and arm movement, so propulsion, steering, and braking are never restricted. The design provides full coverage during unexpected downpours and reduces the discomfort and self-consciousness that often come with arriving somewhere soaked.
The system aims to be simple to deploy and collapse, letting users open the canopy when the weather changes and fold it away when conditions improve. Its see-through material prevents the closed-in feeling associated with opaque rain covers while maintaining clear sightlines for safe navigation.
