Jobs to End Homelessness

'Mission Possible' Helps Create Opportunities for Vancouver's Eastside

Mission Possible is a Vancouver-based not-for-profit focused on creating sustainable jobs for individuals facing homelessness. They generate their revenue partly by donations through Mission Possible Compassion, and partly through Mission Possible Enterprise. The organization is centered around caring, community and transparency, offering full access to their financial statements online as well as resources for people to get involved.

"Mission Possible was founded over 20 years ago by Rev. Liz Wall," the website explains. "Her vision focused on meeting basic street-level needs with a loving and compassionate heart. Throughout the years, Mission Possible has walked with people who found hope in the midst of the challenging streets of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside."

The services provided by Mission Possible's employees include property maintenance (graffiti removal, pressure washing, etc.) and recycling gently-used hotel soaps and repurposing them for those in need. They also offer community-building initiatives with those who live and work in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, and have a StudioWorks program that gives Mission Possible members the opportunity to create art and music.
