Pure Minimalist Apartments

The Tsai Residence is Easily Revertible to its Former State

Tai & Architectural Design completed the 'Tsai Residence,' a beautiful, minimalist apartment located in Taipei, Republic of China.

The architects kept their design impact minimal, allowing it to be easily reverted to its original format. The clients, who are renting the property from the government for the next several years, are required to return it in the same condition. The simple white color palette was chosen to brighten up the space, even the unfinished elements, such as exposed ducts and electrical cables.

The movable shelving units, which rest against the walls in the study area and dining room, provide the interior with a sense of flexibility; they are also able to be reused, even after the space is returned to the government.
