Jaguar's Mind Sense Project Focuses on Brain-Monitoring Technologies

Mind Sense is a Jaguar project that is looking towards employing futuristic new road safety technologies, revolving around brain-monitoring technologies, to help drivers stay focused on the road and avoid accidents.

The system is designed to detect when drivers are distracted or daydreaming. And this point, it attempts to get the driver's attention by vibrating the steering wheel or pedals. If a driver exceeds the speed limit, an actuator located atop the accelerator pedal arm will set up a warning that conveys to the driver that he or she needs to hit the brakes and slow down.

Given advances in brain-monitoring technologies, the Mind Sense project only makes good sense -- no pun intended -- as it can save lives and make driving safer for all.
