Miku Toronto Hosts a Exclusive Tasting Menu and Paired Sakes

June 18th marks International Sushi Day and with the upcoming holiday, Miku Toronto celebrates the occasion by hosting an exclusive menu tasting, sake pairings, and sushi-making lesson. The experience honors the Japanese delicacy, drawing in the talents of expert chefs, Kazuki Ochigoshi and Junnosuke Fujikawa.

The two chefs instructed the class in creating a special roll that is not found on the restaurant's regular menu -- The Bay Roll, which is named after Bay Street. The masterclass followed with an evening of delicious appetizers, sushi plates, and desserts, starting off with a 'Kaiseki Zensai,' which features Aburi Beef Carpaccio, Kyoto Saiko Miso Baked Sablefish, and chef's selected sashimi. This followed with premium nigiri selection that is flame seared before finished with sauces and garnishes -- this features Japanese saba, King Salmon, Hotate, Snow Crab, Miyazaki Wagyu, Chutoro, Hirame Kobujime, Octopus, and Japanese Uni. The dessert platter features the green tea opera cake, the warm Valrhona chocolate matcha fondant, Ichigo mochi dome, and the yuzu elderflower pavlova.
