Åhus Akvavit Debuts 'Midvinter' as its First Aquavit in the U.S. Market

Sweden-based aquavit company Åhus Akvavit has entered the U.S. market with its leading seasonal blend dubbed ‘Midvinter.’ This botanical spirit transforms traditional aquavit flavorings of caraway and fennel with seasonal hits of a winter apple, fresh lemon peel, warm vanilla, and slight cinnamon. Each botanical is macerated, independently distilled, and then combined after calculating the perfect samples of each distillate. It is exclusively available in the US and is sold online at the distillery’s website as well as Drink Fellow’s website through a deal with The Craft Spirits Cooperative.

"While it’s typical for aquavit distillers to make a Christmas edition, Åhus Akvavit is a global spirit, so we chose instead to focus on capturing the botanicals and flavors associated with the season, a little Swedish winter magic, in hopes of creating new memories and traditions no matter where you’re drinking it," says Master Distiller Anna Randrup.
