Michelle Groskopf Captures the Weird and the Wonderful

Michelle Groskopf's latest series, 'That Time I Spent 15 Years in NY,' shows off a different side of the city. In fact, you can barely tell that the photographs are taken there, despite how prolific it is. Each photo is completely and totally strange; take, for instance, the shot of the man walking along the beach in a wet-suit and bee-keepers hat, fully armed with a metal detector, but completely oblivious to the people around him.

Groskopf's other series is no less strange. Titled '2014 Mr. and Mrs. Muscle Beach,' the collection captures the contestants of an all-American body building convention, in all their fake tan and bulging muscle glory.

Though Groskopf claims to want to capture "the joy of the everyday," her days appear to be infinitely more interesting than the average citizen's.
