Michelle Doll Illustrates Women in Gusty Weather Conditions

Hair is difficult enough to render when it remains perfectly still, but artist Michelle Doll wasn’t going to let a burdensome task prevent her from illustrating images she wanted to make. Seen here are a series of paintings in which Doll depicts woman in gusty weather conditions. Naturally, her hair is windswept and flying all over the place in chaotic, but visually stunning ways. Adding another layer of challenge, some of the images feature the same lady wearing a shaggy trapper hat. Doll thus had to paint two varieties of hair blowing in the wind and she does so magnificently.

Michelle Doll is currently based in New York, where she is regularly featured in various local galleries. Her visual style is a combination of realism with impressionistic brushwork.
