Political Fashion Blogettes

Meghan McCain, Fashion Journalist

On McCainBlogette.com, Cindy McCain’s daughter is following in her mothers shoes, quite literally. Although Cindy McCain was ragged on for wearing a $310,000 luxury ensemble, Meghan McCain isn't holding back from expressing her own fashion addiction. In her personal blog, she not only writes about the inner workings of McCain family experience, but Meghan also evaluates the fashion choices of political VIPs like Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama.

In her blog, Meghan McCain, 24, discusses "The 'really cute' shoes Chelsea Clinton wore when they met. She posts photographs of her own shoes and of the shoes she encounters on the trail, including those belonging to such fashion luminaries as Dick Armey and Henry Kissinger."

I guess it just goes hand in hand with modern US politics. Sarah Palin was exposed shopping for a $150,000 fall wardrobe at Neimann Marcus and even super model Tyra Banks emulated Michelle Obama's look in a recent fashion spread.

It makes sense though that they have to be sartorially savvy, because if you think about, someone like Sarah Palin gets way more press these days than someone like Jennifer Aniston or Gwen Stefani (who no one accuses of being frivolous in their fashion spending.)

So, the fact that Meghan McCain is into fashion just proves that she's ready to step into the family shoes, following proudly in her mom's Louboutins.

"I don't understand why in this industry of politics, I am an airhead," Meghan says. "I'm so sick of being called dumb because I like, you know, movies and music and fashion."

Meghan McCain isn't in an easy position, but she continues to stay strong to her feminine identity. Instead of sticking to pantsuits to counteract her mother's fashion choices, or the fashion scrutiny Sarah Palin is facing, Meghan continues to dress up, wearing heels and adding her signature hair bow to just about every outfit.

I respect that Meghan McCain sticks to her passion for fashion, and after discovering it today, I will most certainly continue to visit her blog.
