Don't go thinking that the Meander Chair can be separated in order to accommodate two people, for the overlapping frame of this piece of furniture is just an illusion. Designer Anni Chego used lengths of beautiful beech wood with which to construct two distinct backrests and seats, yet these combine to share only a single set of four supportive legs.
One backrest is shorter than the other to reinforce the impression of two independent chairs, but this composition required the larger of the pair to be interrupted in its assembly. The top rail of the smaller one extends through a vertical stile of the bigger, flattening out the form of the Meander Chair. To finish off the eccentric outlined look of the object, a subtle plexiglass panel was chosen as a see-through seat.
