Matthew Brandt Captures Photos and Alters them with Food and Earth Elements

This series of chromatic captures by Matthew Brandt features photographs of beautiful landscapes with modifications using food and other odd items.

This Los Angeles-based artist brilliantly revamps his landscape photos using items such as lake water from the actual photograph. The series is entitled 'Lakes and Reservoirs' and 'Taste Tests in Color.' The luminous colors are created using items such as Kool Aid, prescription pills, toothpaste, ketchup and more.

The subjects in the photos are captures from the American west in beautiful landscapes such as the jaw-dropping Yosmite National Park in California. Brandt soaks his photographs for weeks at a time with water from lakes and reservoirs. This technique creates an antiquated effect that makes the photographs look ultra retro. Matthew Brandt twists the art of photography by incorporating man-made modifications, making for the ultimate in artistry. Photo Credits: designboom, matthewbrandt
