Shattered Glass Animal Sculptures

Artist Marta Klonowska Creates Sharp Renditions of Creatures

Marta Klonowska creates incredible sculptures of animals using a cutting-edge material, quite literally. Made out colored shattered glass, each sculpture may appear abstract, but they each are so life-like in form that it is hard not to want to pet them. Of course, instead of soft fur, people will be touching sharp shards of glass, which is more harmful than pleasurable.

Born in Warsaw and currently splitting her time between there and Düsseldorf, Marta Klonowska is inspired by animals found in baroque and romantic paintings by such artists as Peter Paul Rubens or Francisco de Goya. Most recently displaying her work at the European Glass Context 2012 exhibition, Marta Klonowska definitely knows how to wow a crowd.
