Martian Show Homes

A Mars Show Home is Being Used to Tease National Grographic's 'Mars' Series

At the Royal Observatory Greenwich, London, National Geographic will be opening the very first Mars show home to the public as part of the promotions for its new 'Mars' series on TV.

The show home is set to provide an indication of what life on the red planet will be like, indicating a future that may in fact be no more than a few decades away.

National Geographic developed its Mars show home with help from some of the astronomers of the Royal Observatory Greenwich, as well as Stephen Petranek, who authored 'How We’ll Live on Mars' and consulted with National Geographic for its Mars series. The structure of the show home itself is dome-shaped and imagines a build that combines soil from the planet Mars with recycled spacecraft pieces.
