Marcello’s House by Ctrl+Z and NoSoloPaja is located in the heart of Seville and Massanes Spain. This stunning architecture piece defies convention with its geometric framing details that are created using a series of complex mathematical configurations.
Focusing on the use of natural resources, this low-tech project promotes self-construction and the use of accessible and local materials. Marcello’s House is the result of wooden geodesic dome research and 1960s design inspirations. Though visually complex, this structure employed a simple and inexpensive building process that featured pre-made modules that were pieced together much like the elements of a large 3D puzzle.
This project was built to house a family's need for additional rooms within their home. After one week of building, the home is a modern translation of traditional igloo constructions.
