Marc Jacobs Brightens Up The Season With His Fall 09 Collection

While most designers are sticking with safe blacks and grays for their Fall 2009 collections, Marc Jacobs boldly extended the colorful theme of Spring and Summer into his Fall/Winter 2009 runway show at New York Fashion Week.

"What? Is all black going to help the economy?" Marc Jacobs asked the day before the show.

Describing the collection as colorful and bright would be an understatement. Jacobs infused the collection with vibrant fluorescent colors that are sure to make heads turns when you walk down the street in gloomy weather.

In addition to being a statement of defiance against the troubled times with fashion that cheers you up, the collection was inspired by 1980s NYC clubbing fashion, with shoulder pads galore and individual hair and make-up for each of the 60+ models.
