Organic Industrial Illuminators

Mandelier Lights Combine Manufactured Materials into Natural Forms

While you might often expect that designers will make quite rigid or rational creations out of industrial materials, you will find that this has not quite been done in the case of Mandelier Lighting. This collection of table and pendant lamps features a range of unexpected compositions that seem to mimic the crooked twigs and branches of trees.

Matt McCormick uses thin metal tubes to assemble bough-like structures for the chandeliers that offshoot from one central stem. These reach out in different directions and, in some cases, fork off to become another set of limbs. Bronzed hardware keeps Mandelier Lighting's many segments together; each one is terminated in a light fixture, occasionally featuring assorted lightbulbs to suggest brilliant and unique foliage.
